Serving Our Community
Two hands reaching towards each other against a soft twilight sky symbolizing connection and love.

At Easingwold Methodist Church, we believe that faith is best expressed through practical love for our neighbours. We're deeply rooting in the life of Easingwold and the surrounding villages, and we love getting involved in our community.

Our outreach includes:

Oasis Café - Last Friday of each month (9.45-11.30 am)

This is a warm and welcoming space where people from all walks of life can gather for a good cup of coffee or tea and have a chat. Whether you're catching up with old friends or making new ones, you'll always find a friendly face here, all thanks to our Men's Group who run this for everyone.

Open the Book - School Assemblies

During each school term, a team of Christians from various churches in Easingwold comes together to lead an assembly at local primary school. These sessions often include acting out Bible stories, with some roles for the children to join in on the fun!

Ecumenical Events

We're all about community, so we team up with other local churches for joint services, prayers, and public worship — especially during Christmas, Easter, and Holy Week. We also come together with the whole community at the War Memorial on Remembrance Sunday, to honour those within the town and local district who died serving their country, particularly the two World Wars and more recently.

Support for Local Causes

We work closely with and support a number of local causes, including EDCCA (Easingwold District Community Care Association) with its Food Bank, Food Share Scheme and Bereavement Support Service***. Donations of clothing and financial gifts are frequently taken to Carecent, the breakfast centre for the homeless and needy in York.
We also hold services for the elderly residents at Springhill Court (on a monthly basis), and volunteers from EMC frequently run and/or support activities at the home.

*** Bereavement Support: Although this service is not yet advertised on the EDCCA website (at November 2025), it is already available so please contact the EDCCA office for details.

Together, we strive to be a caring, outward-looking church that's grounded in our community and open to everyone.
