The Calling of the Methodist Church is:
- to respond to the gospel of God's love in Christ, and
- to live out its discipleship in worship and mission
We look at doing this, with God's help, through four key areas:
Worship
The Church exists to increase awareness of God's presence
and to celebrate God's love through:
- praying daily
- worshipping with others regularly
- looking and listening for God in (a) Scripture, and (b) the world.
Learning and Caring
The Church exists to help people to grow and learn as Christians, through mutual support and care by:
- caring for ourselves and those around us
- learning more about our faith
- practising hospitality and generosity
Service
The Church exists to be a good neighbour to people in need and to challenge injustice. We do this by:
- helping people in our communities and beyond
- caring for creation and all God's gifts
- challenging injustice
Evangelism
The Church exists to make more followers of Jesus Christ, by:
- speaking of the love of God
- living in a way that draws others to Jesus
- sharing our faith with others
May we be a blessing within and beyond God's Church, for the transformation of the world.
