We have a number of Christmas services taking place in and around Easingwold, as shown on the poster. Services in bold are at Easingwold Methodist Church
Not everyone is able to enjoy the festivities around Christmas, or get in the party mood. It can be a very difficult time for some, for many different reasons, possibly with painful emotions, memories and feelings that totally overwhelm. person may be lonely, missing a loved one who is no longer here, or filled with fear over the future.
However you feel, a Blue Christmas Service will provide a space for all those feelings to be held and acknowledged, rather than simply dismissed or hidden amidst all the jollity. It offers a space where you can feel what you feel. It's a service that offers good news of hope for the future, without minimising the pain that is felt now.
Little participation will be required – just come and listen to the music, and the words that are spoken. We will explore how sorrow and suffering is present right there in the nativity tableau, at the heart of a story that is so often told with joy and gladness. As we notice this you may realise that God knows and sees our sorrows; that there is a place for them, even at Christmas.
Why don't you come and join us. No expectations other than the fact that you will be very welcome.
